COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thatís right, the first seasonal offering (of many to come ) from (512) Brewing Company was brewed this week. Itís a Robust Porter brewed with Pecans. Look for this beer to be released sometime in late October - We canít release it until thereís at least a hint of cool weather in the air! This nearly black Porter is made with US 2-row and Crystal malts along with Bairdís Chocolate and Black malts. Mild smooth hop bitterness is contrasted with sharp black malt bitterness. It has a full body and malty sweetness balanced with subtle pecan aroma and flavor from locally grown pecans. Yet another true Austin original!

Draught. Pours dark brown-black with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasty and ashy, with just the barest hint of pecans. Flavor is similar, with the pecans coming in a little more in the finish. Well done; itís mostly a roasty porter with the pecans adding an extra twist, but doesnít go overboard like some of the examples that seem to just dump in a pile of nut extract.

GABF 2011. Black with a small tan head. Big aroma of chocolate malt, roasted pecans, and a weird grassy hop tone thrown in...still smells great. Nice chocolaty pecan taste, with some toasty grains. Body is a little light though, and isnít as sweet as I feel it should be.

Roasted malts, pecan aroma! This is a delicious beer! If you start with this beer, finish with this beer. The taste will spoil all other flavors and youíll just end up ordering another anyway!

Pours nearly pitch black with the slightest brown highlights at the edge. Nice roasted coffee aroma. Coffee and bitter chocolate notes with some sharp bite.

10.14.2011 - Houston, TX On Tap Extreme smokey taste overpowers the underlying pecan charm. Drink it slow, the finish lasts...

Draft... Dark brown, almost black, very light tan head, only leaves a ring, disappointing.... Great nose, brown sugar, roast, molasses and a hint of vanilla, really well rounded... Tastes a little boring, flavors to muted and mixed together, roasted chocolate with a bit of vanilla, its good but wish something came to the forefront more

On tap at the Flying Saucer in my home-town of Houston mutha-fuckin Texas.. Chocolate brown pour with mocha head. Aromas of pecans. Smooth and mellow with roasted malt, pecan, and mocha flavors. Much better than the BA version.....

On tap at Houston flying saucer. P is nnear black with a frighth brown head. Nose is sweet Malta and vanilla with the full bodied nuttiness balancing nicely. Taste is similar with the roast from the Malta and the nuttyness starring the show. Well balanced warm beer. Great treat
