The beer pours a dark brownish-black color with a medium light brown head that dissipates steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. Light roasted malt aroma with a touch of coffee. Medium, soft body with flavors of malt, milk chocolate and mild coffee. Very little if any nutty character actually. The finish is malty with a light coffee bitterness left behind. Overall a decent Porter, but kind of a head-scratcher as to calling it a Pecan Porter. I know those nuts are expensive but this could have used more. daknole (3032), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

Aroma is light chcocolate, roasted malt, weak coffee, and some earthy nutiness. Flavor is roasty and light chocolate. I wish I could taste more pecans. But it was still pretty good. sebletitje (2000), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours black with beige head, light golden lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts, light pecan nose.
Taste, nutty / pecan with chocolate malts, light abv an palate with some coffee notes in the finish and some faint bitterness.
Very tasty and gets better after a few pints and after it sits outside for a few.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2009 A solid porter. I think the Pecans might be a gimmick because I couldn’t taste them, or even a hint of nuttiness. I also drank it outside when it was 100F, so I may not have enjoyed it as much as if I was sitting in a dark pub when its 50F outside. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA

Real impressed with this porter...very nice malt, coffee and chocolate aromas and flavors...with a touch of sweetness on the end, but not too much. bfrederi (1), Alabama, USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 10, 2009 I am very partial to Porters. And this Porter lands near the Meantime Porter as far as my favorites. In my top 2, most certainly. This Porter is good in a much different way. It has a great chocolate/coffee aroma to it, and has a more malty taste to it. The first batch of it I tried wasn’t nearly as dry as the last batch I tasted, but in both cases, the beer didn’t disappoint. When you read Pecan, don’t expect sweet. It is still very much a Porter, but with a little bit of added malt to it. Which some will like, and other won’t. mmmbeer (766), Austin, Texas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 29, 2009 Served in shaker at Rover’s on 5.28.09- non transparent black in color, nice creamy lightly darkened tan head. Aroma of a roasted malt, coffee, brown sugar, and a note of pecans. Hits the mouth with a nice wide body, malt is there from the first sip- which is extermely pleasant, dark chocolate notes intertwined with sweetness and pecans everywhere, finish is sticky and hangs around like bad company- which is good. Yet another solid brew from this new brewery which hasn’t had a slow start.
