Had on cask in Dallas. Smooth with nut flavors well balanced with malt. Surprising light drinking for its complexity. Its a cool night in Big D and this sits very well

Draft... This beer rocks!Ö Pours black with a small, fizzy, khaki head. Loads of chocolate and vanilla in both the aroma and flavor. More full-bodied than the version treated with cocoa nibs and blueberries. Lively carbonation. Well-balanced. Much better than their Whiskey Barrel Aged Double Pecan Porter. Probably the best porter Iíve ever tried!

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2012 A deliciously rich pecan aroma, with a malty hop flavor followed by a more bitter hop finish. Extremely dark with a thin creamy head.

Beautiful caramel head, with a subtle and delicious hint of chocolate pecan. One of the best porters I've had.

Draught at ginger man. Really nice oily black with a tan head. Roasty malt and chocolate aroma. Some burnt grain taste but maybe thatís the pecan, sweet chocolate and smooth mouthfeel. I really enjoy this.

Draught at Opal Divineís Freehouse, Austin, Oct. 18. Pours black with a small semi-lasting creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, some coffee & chocolate and oddly enough, peas. Flavour follows the aroma but thereís something about it that doesnít quite work for me, the pecans perhaps? Itís also a bit watery. Average bodied. Just good.

From notes, 5/4/11:
Had this one on tap at The Draft Pick in Austin.
Aroma: Coffee, roasted malts, slight chocolaty sweetness, and of course, pecans.
Appearance: Poured a deep dark brown into a room temp pint glass with minimal head. Tan head quickly dissipated and left slight spiderweb lacing.
Taste: Loved the nutty roastiness and coffee flavors true to the style.
Palate: Thick for a porter, low carbonation, and damn smooth.
Overall: Definitely one of my favorite porters to date.
