That’s right, the first seasonal offering (of many to come ) from (512) Brewing Company was brewed this week. It’s a Robust Porter brewed with Pecans. Look for this beer to be released sometime in late October - We can’t release it until there’s at least a hint of cool weather in the air! This nearly black Porter is made with US 2-row and Crystal malts along with Baird’s Chocolate and Black malts. Mild smooth hop bitterness is contrasted with sharp black malt bitterness. It has a full body and malty sweetness balanced with subtle pecan aroma and flavor from locally grown pecans. Yet another true Austin original!

Looks rad! Mega dark with thick brown head. Good aroma with a toasty dark malt smell. Maybe the word "pecan" got stuck in my head, but it does taste nutty. Thick up front, with a dry aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Lowbrow’s. Poured into a pint glass. Aroma is of malt and roasted pecan. Appearance is dark with a slightly tan head. Tastes comes in with roasted malt and chocolate then it slowly dissapates into a roasted pecan note. Pretty good ale, my first from 512.

Tap at Petrol Station. Very dark opaque but not overly dense pour. Small beige head. Killer aroma and taste of nut, dark chocolate, and roasted malts. This is fantastic. Brilliantly crafted.

Had this on draft at Friendly Spot in San Antonio. Really nice porter, the pecan adding a bit of sweetness, certainly not subtle but still balanced. Like most good flavored beers, this would have been good just as a porter.

Pours a very dark brown-black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted chocolate and nuts. Thin mouthfeel with a nice lingering finish. Alcohol is well hidden making it very drinkable.
