GABF 2011. Hazy bright gold with a big nose of citrus, grapefruit, toffee, and leafy hops. Delightful flavor of hoppy lemon citrus, grapefruit, and a whole lotta toffee/caramalt sweetness. Great balance for a huge body. Suprisingly short linger. Herbal and floral balanced by a big toffee malt tone. Bitter yet sweet. Well made!

Poured orangish golden color. Somewhat low carbonation and thick syrupy mouthfeel. Great tropical fruit flavors, dank herbal notes and bitter orange peel. Very smooth and tasty DIPA.

(draught at Meddlesome Moth) cloudy bright orange pour, huge frothy tan head and excellent lacing. This is how a beer should look. Nose is straight west coast. Bright orange, pine, mango and pineapple. smells so tropical and fresh. Taste is more bitter though. Some pine, orange and the rind, cream, very slight bready notes. Nice creamy body, medium carbonation. Great DIPA!

Draft at the common table. Pours a beautiful hazy orange cor with a medium white head that lasts! Aromas are citrus, pine, bread. The mouthfeel is sticky, bitter and dry with a medium body. Cheers!

On tap at petrol station. Pours a slightly hazy deep gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges laces nicely. Aroma has a combination of light citrus, grapefruit, pine and resin backed by sweet grain and a light floral note. Flavor ha more pine and resin with a hint of grapefruit and backing bread.

Crushed at GABF ’10. Not crazy about it. Slightly below average DIPA. Way too sweet. Some decent hop presence, but they don’t balance out the sweetness in any way. Okay, but nothing spectacular.

On tap at The Holy Grail. Copper color - oh, how I love fresh citrus and pine hop aroma. Taste is quite nice here as well, hides the ABV well. I continue to be impressed with this brewery.

Pint on Cask at Meddlesome Moth in Dallas... Sorry for the short review, coming from my notes. from cask, so not much head or carbonation, but thats expected... Got my pint, and the first thing I smelled was orange juice. Wha? yes. n the nose ended up being a mixture of orange/grapefruit juice. this is by far the most citrus I have ever smelled on anything excluding juice... possibly. Taste is exactly the same, I want this for breakfast, this is incredible... more incredible is knowing that it is 9% alcohol. This seriously tastes like a mix of orange juice and grapefruit juice... one of the craziest things I have had in a while. I honestly dont know how to rate this, as it doesnt taste like a beer. crazy.

Sampled at Freetail at the La Muerta bottle share. On cask. Poured a hazy, light orange body topped with a tight, creamy head that was bubbly and left some nice lacing. Aromas of bright, fresh citrus hops, orange/tangering, caramel/melon sweetness. Very nice! Flavors of faded hops, medium caramel sweetness, piney and sort of flat and muddled. Medium to full mouthfeel. Active/fine carbonation. Great aroma but the overall flavor was a let down.

On tap at the Flying Saucer Houston. Glad I could track this one down. Slightly hazy and red-orange with a small white head and good lacing. The nose brings pineapple aside some green grape notes and light caramel malt. Flavor begins with rich citrusy hops, grapefruit-toned, with a little caramelly malt. The finish is slightly more dry with fairly strong bittering hops. A very nice IIPA, definitely more hops-balanced but still plenty drinkable. Another win from 512.
