COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a bigger, bolder version of our mainstay Pecan Porter, with a richer finish. Two months on recently emptied Jack Daniels select barrels imparted a wonderful vanilla character from the oak and a pleasant amount of whiskey nose and flavor.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured dark reddish brown color with an average frothy tan head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate malt, whiskey and nuts aroma. Medium to full body and smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy whiskey sweet flavor with a medium to heavy complex sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This beer exceeded my expectations.

I have had this a number of times and it remains consistent. This bottle was at least a year old and the flavors had blended well. Strong whiskey aroma with some vanilla and malt. Dark brown with a substantial tan head given the age. Smooth palate with some carbonation. More upfront whiskey flavor with a tinge of pecan and roasted malts. This could pass as a stout in my opinion. Definitely worth a try if you can find it.

750 ml bottle to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; a dull brownish-black with ample beige head. Smells and tastes good; dark malt and whiskey with a pleasant pecan presence. Average on the palate. Good beer.

Draft. Aroma is boozy, earthy pecan. Appearance is black with a tan head. Taste is dark and earthy. Some dark fruit on there. Palate is good. Overall, a good beer. I think the earth i was tasting was the pecan. God stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle (750 ml). Thanks to Daniel for this one! Black with a medium diminishing brown head and some lacing. Aroma is of whiskey (not overpowering), vanilla, nuts, chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is about the same with a pleasant subtle acidic presence. Medium body. Low to medium carbonation. Superb balance. Good use of the whiskey barrels. One of the best barrel-aged porter I’ve tried so far. Nice beer!

Black in the glass. Strong oaky wood flavors with coffee, cocoa, and chocolate milk notes. Finishes dry on the palate. Smoky espresso aroma. Overall, very tasty... Thanks to BarZigKin via Rosebud Butternuts for the hookup...

Infected bottle, nuttiness, acid, some cocoa. Wonder what it would taste like non-infected.

Sweet candied coffee aroma. Pours jet black with no head. Cocoa, candy, whiskey, roasted malt. Relatively light bodied. Very little bitterness and smooth as polished obsidian.

Opaque black beer, good sized tan head. Light palate, semi dry. Mild carbonation. Sweet dry wood and emulsion paint. A little vanilla and mild whisky. Creamy finish. Nice beer but I could do with less of the barrel induced paint flavour and more pecan!

a gusher but not infected. Mild flavors abound. A nice beer with god balance but maybe I was expecting something to pop a bit more. that being said, one I would surely drink again. The pecan adds a nice astringency to complement the vanilla & whiskey finish.
