COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made in the style of the Belgian wheat beers that are so refreshing, the (512) Wit is a hazy ale with coriander and domestic citrus peel aromas. 50% US 2-row malted barley and 50% US unmalted wheat and oats make this a light, crisp ale suited well for warmer weather.

My first beer of my 2 day getaway in Austin.. . wow, what a beer to start out on! .. I was floored by how much i liked this, with wits not being a style i usually seek out . .. Aroma is dreamy, smell fruits and light virgin perfume .. . Lacing is a A+ grade .. . light and sweet, oh so young and playful.. Pierre should be proud an amazing white is being made in TX again.. . very delicious!

Celis White is gone so this is a welcome entrance to the Austin market. Ok, the current Celis White (made in Mich)doesn’t do it for me. 512 apparently want to follow Pierre’s style and even Pierre loves it, so you must try this if in Austin. Great mix of coriander and orange peel flavors and aromas. What a great summer brew to have available. I think I’ll be drinking a few of these this summer. :-)

sitting here at the brewery with a fresh pour of this golden cloudy goodness. Nose coriander, grapefruit, citrus, lemon, and some other spiceyness Appearance golden cloudy with a nice head that last Mouthfeel starts a little creamy with some hope on the backend with a little bit of dryness A very fine brew, thanks kevin for a good solid beer for the Texas heat and cannot wait for the winter to try this again Serving type: on-tap

My favorite Wit. Nothing flashy, just a tasting refreshing Wit. No need for Lemon or Orange wedge, just enjoy the natural flavors. These guys need to start bottling this stuff.

Awesome Wit. One of my favorites. Grapefruit aroma. Good full body. Don’t let the low score fool you. A lot of the reviews were for the first batch which was kind of thin.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2008 A dandy, smooth Wit with all American ingredients. This beer is a joy to enjoy on a warm / hot day. The beginning is sort of creamy, and the ending features just a hint of perhaps lemons and spice. 512 is currently a local brewery in Austin, Texas. So if you live in the area I recommend you ask your favorite bar to carry this beer.

Sampled at GABF on 9/17/2010. This witbier pours a fairly hazy light gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is wheaty, grassy and lemony. A medium bodied witbier. The malts are fruity and sweet, citrusy and cereal. The hops are floral. Lively carbonation. Light and refreshing. Crisp and clean. A very easy drinking wit. A great summer ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2009 The beer is not cloudy! (The owner and brewer e-mailed me about this and it is a concern of theirs. Really awesome that Kevin cares that much about a simple thing as appearance!) The aroma welcomes you with a bit more bitter orange peel then expected. Good. The taste finishes the orange and clove aroma very nicely. I walk away from this beer thinking it is was what blue moon should have been! Hoegarden still has my heart!
