COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made in the style of the Belgian wheat beers that are so refreshing, the (512) Wit is a hazy ale with coriander and domestic citrus peel aromas. 50% US 2-row malted barley and 50% US unmalted wheat and oats make this a light, crisp ale suited well for warmer weather.

On tap at the Draught House-Austin. New brewery-new beer. Pours hazy white/yellowish with no head. Nose is very nice with spices, wheat, lemon coming through. Taste is dissapointing-especially compared to the nice aroma. All the above flavors are present but in very moderate proportions. The body is thin and the beers really dies on the end. This would be a nice session/summer beer in south Texas but it doesn’t stack up with some of the better wit/white beers on the market. Hopefully they will continue to refine their beers and keep working on the recipes.. Here’s to a new Texas brewery!!!! Cheers.

A sweet wheat beer that is more like a white wheat, which is not the style I’m into. The sweet citrus flavour is more like soda than beer and I wouldn’t want to sip it slowly in summer which is the whole point of wheat beer!!

Tap at Flying Saucer, Houston.
Pours an average cloudy yellow with an aroma of smoky banana and cooked beef ribs. Flavor is watery banana and light clove. Watery mouthfeel. A bit of a letdown.

I had high hopes for this. Their IPA is great and the pecan porter was fine but this was blnad and boring. No citrusy, spicy flavors to speak of. I’ll try again but I doubt i mis-read this one.

GABF 2011. Hazy light gold, with an aroma of coriander, wheat, and hard soap. Taste has some weird yeasty quality not unlike soap from the nose, with some coriander, wheat and orange peel. Wasn’t too keen on this one.
