COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made in the style of the Belgian wheat beers that are so refreshing, the (512) Wit is a hazy ale with coriander and domestic citrus peel aromas. 50% US 2-row malted barley and 50% US unmalted wheat and oats make this a light, crisp ale suited well for warmer weather.

My favorite Wit. Nothing flashy, just a tasting refreshing Wit. No need for Lemon or Orange wedge, just enjoy the natural flavors. These guys need to start bottling this stuff.

2/25/12. On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2012. Hazy orange pour with a small khaki head. Light aroma of Belgian yeast, spices, and a touch of citrus. Sweet orange flavor with some pale malts and definite spices. Meh.

A sweet wheat beer that is more like a white wheat, which is not the style I’m into. The sweet citrus flavour is more like soda than beer and I wouldn’t want to sip it slowly in summer which is the whole point of wheat beer!!

GABF 2011. Hazy light gold, with an aroma of coriander, wheat, and hard soap. Taste has some weird yeasty quality not unlike soap from the nose, with some coriander, wheat and orange peel. Wasn’t too keen on this one.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a clear yellowish gold with visible carbonation and a white head that dissipates completely. Aroma is a bit thin with wheat, light fruit and some underlying sweetness. Flavor has a good amount of sweet wheat and light fruit with a bit of clove.

Typical belgian wit aromas of bananas, clove, and spice. Follows with similar tastes and a hint of pineapple acidity. Strange herbal hop profile that doesn’t seem to blend well with the rest.

On tap at Little Woodrows in Houston. Pours hazy yellow-orange with white head. Lots of citrus and spices. A light refreshing wheat that has all the typical ingredients in the right amounts. Better than Widmer hefe in my opinion. 512 is a brewery to watch.
