3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Henrik Øl og Vinstove, pours a dark reddish brown with a medium beige head. Aroma is very earthy, full of chalk and light earthy hops. Flavour is a little better, with earthy hops and chalk. Not a whole lot of complexity but pretty solid.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark color with a nice light mahogany color on the head. Aromas of citrus, grapefruit with some roastiness in here as well. Flavor is really nice and complex. Quite interesting how the hops is what you taste up front, but gives away to a nice sweet roastiness like a good stout after a little while. Starts off with grapefruits, lemons and mango that transitions into a bready, sweet and roasty flavor with notes of chocolate and coffee. Some times a black IPA is not all that well done with either too much hops and too little sweetness, or the other way around, but this beer is like a really good stout that went to the west coast! One wicked beer i’d definately purchase again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap, Naboen, Bergen, 29/10/14. Deep ruby, blackish in the gloom, with a heaped beige foam. Juicy stone fruit, Belgian-esque plummy yeast aroma flaked with bitter chocolate. Soft, soapy and floral with chocolate lime, flowers and a orange liqueur headiness announcing an ABV of anything up to 7%. Strength really is anyone’s guess but mine is...reindeer-beater. Mint, plum, clove and redcurrant more dubbel than IPA as it warms up from the ludicrously icy serving temperature. Very pleasant.
