04.11.2014. 0,33l Bottle. Black colour with off-white head. Very nice aromas and flavours of dark malts and hops. Body is pretty strong with good malty flavours. There are chocolate, coffee and that very nice dry butterness from the hops. Good bitterness as well as aromatic hops. Notes of spruce, herbs and some wooden oils. I dont know!. Very good beer!!!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. Pours a deep reddish brown colour with a medium, creamy and beige head. Aroma of fruity hops, pine and grapefruit. The flavour is pretty fruity with lots of tropical fruits and grassy hops. Has a slick mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. A nice and well-balanced IPA, but where is the roastedness?!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drinking from a 33 cl bottle.
In the aroma hop bitterness with a sweet tone. Fruity.
The unclear black beer has a medium off-white head.
A nice bitterness from the hop, but a bit smooth that makes it easier drinkable than lot of other Ipas.
Medium high carbonated.

Sample at Bergen Ølfestival 2014. (my first one from this brewery)
Almost black with a small head. A bit sweet with chocolate, light roasted malt and some notes of licorice, Not that much hops in this one. Still a drinkable and a descent beer.

Fin brun farge. Klar. Har en litt lys topp. Tørr foran. Har litt perlende kullsyre. Passelig bitter ettersmak. Litt kort. Kunne v vært mere fruktig. OK humlet

Off-white head. Aroma of nice citrus hops, some dark malty character there too.Taste starts choc malty with refreshing hops. Almost forgot about the black ipas for a while. Well balanced beer that i hope will come on the standard selection of vinmonopolet

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
This lean and complex Black IPA shares an intricate blend of toasted malts and wooden, citrusy hops which leads to a perfectly harmonious coniferous bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A dollop of foam covers the shiny (when well lit) dark brown.
-There is a lot going on in this one, yet it never becomes tiring.
-The slender mouthfeel and prickly bubbling increases drinkability.
-These guys know what they are doing, it’s obvious.
-The fir-like bitterness is beautifully leveled with the rest of the brew’s medium intensity.
