A very approachable, versatile pale ale, our 7 Seas version draws inspiration from the venerable traditions of proper British brewing. Brewed with generous amounts of imported golden promise malt, noble hop varieties, and a slightly warm fermentation, this ale displays aromas of fresh fruit, earthy hop notes, and a clean, snappy finish. Ah, nothing like a proper pint! Brewing specs: Original gravity: 12.9 Plato Terminal gravity: 2.2-2.7 Plato IBUs (approx.): 30

Serving: from tap at 7 Seas Brewing. Aroma: wet wool and Cheerios. Appearance: small, rocky, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, dark-amber body. Taste: lightly sweet initial flavor and grapefruit-like, sour finish with average duration. Palate: light bodied with watery texture and fizzy carbonation. Overall: I couldn’t get past the aroma.

Clear copper pour big head. Aroma of malt, honey yeast, spicy flowers. Tastes solidly malty. Rye bread, nutty flavors are present with a firm hop bitterness and a firm acidic component. Seems like a very light brown ale in flavor. Very well balanced.

Hazy copper coloured body with an orange glow and a thinnish, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of nice toasted malt, earthy hops, a bit of caramelised sugars and a hint of cherries and fruit. Medium-bodied; Strong earthy malts up front with a little sweetness, a hint of fruit and not much else - fairly mild at the end. Aftertaste shows a bunch more earthiness and alcohol and a bit more sugars - fairly nice to finish. Overall, a relatively nice and refreshing beer with some good tastes for the style, but not a complex or great beer - on the more caramel and fruity side of EPAs, but nice. I sampled this 50 cL can purchased from Whole Foods in Seattle (WestLake), Washington on 08-February-2013 for US$2.99 sampled at home in [the real] Washington on 27-February-2013.

Pint can. Pours copper with a medium, bubbly head. The aroma is honey, floral hops, pine, and corn. The flavor is mild bitterness and a good malty sweetness. Medium body, with a velvety, silky feel. Overall, this is a good, well balanced pale ale. Nothing special or complex, but tasty.

This brew pours a clear copper-orange color with a medium thick and frothy white head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt, floral hops and citrus. Light-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, hops, and fruit. The finish is sweet with a lingering malty aftertaste. Above average all around.

473ml can pours a hazy golden color with 3 fingers of frothy white head which left some spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of cereal grains and hops. Malty sweetness with a pleasing earthy hop bitterness in the finish. A fine example of a British pale ale which I enjoyed tasting.

Can thanks to Mike. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet biscuit and oranges. The flavor is very smooth and light; sweet citrus hops, light spiciness, toasted malt. Easy drinking. Not bad.
