COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Conceived here in the NW, we’re proud to offer this intensely hoppy, black, yet velvety smooth Spring seasonal. Brewed with de-husked black malt, caramel malt, and generously hopped with Columbus, Centennial and Amarillo. Our CDA achieves layers of hop character nicely balanced by a hint of roast and a smooth lingering finish. At 7% ABV, this ale offers both power and finesse, audacity and subtlety, yielding without question, an Ultimate Proper Pint. Enjoy!

Serving: from tap at 7 Seas Brewing. Aroma: moderately malty. Appearance: small, frothy, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Cola-like, dark-brown body. Taste: moderately bitter, roasted, initial flavor and finish with average duration. Palate: light bodied with dry texture and lively carbonation. Overall: very good.

Found this at a Fred Myers in Fairbanks AK, Dark brown, creamy beige head w/ fine bubbles, left nice rings in the glass. Sweet, roasty malts, grapefruit peel hops, sawdust. Well balanced, interesting, my first Black IPA.

Dark like a porter except with minimal head if any at all. Aroma is distinctly citrus, some grapefruit, herbally, and old orange peel aromas. Taste is like a citrusy and slightly sour ipa. Gives a bit of puckering on the finish. Malt is tame and indistinct. Halfway through a pint there is absolutely no head and it gives off a soda-like appearance. I was unhappy being stuck with this beer.

Dark brown in color, clear with a thin head. Dark roasty malt pine like flavors. This was roasty chocolate and a super IPA dry finish. Great beer.

Growler from Malt & Vine. Pours black with a surging, dense, creamy dark tan head that really sticks around. Plenty of webby lace showing. Big roasty nose with plenty of pine. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Dark roast, fresh cut wood, pine, and bitter resin on the mid-palate, though showing relatively little hop acid or oil. Moderately intense resiny finish. Good black ipa.
