COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Port Royal Stout (Foreign Export Style), combines seven different malt varieties to create intriguing flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, and roasted barley. Nugget and Mt. Hood hops offer a soft floral nose and just enough bitterness to balance the creamy, smooth finish. Dark and ominous in appearance, Port Royal Stout is a great sipping companion for any drizzly Northwest afternoon. OG: 16.7P; TG: 3.25-3.75P; IBUs ~40

Serving: from tap at 7 Seas Brewing. Aroma: strong, dark-roasted coffee aroma. Appearance: very small, light-brown, initial head with no lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, dark-brown/black body. Taste: lightly bitter, roasted coffee initial flavor and lightly bitter/sour coffee-like finish with very long duration. Palate: heavy body with oily texture and soft carbonation. Overall: good.

16oz growler from Chuck’s CD. Very black beer, big head pour from growler. I had a Halls before the beer due to this cough from fatherhood. What is it about having a baby and getting a cough? Do Halls desensitize my taste buds? Aroma is toasty and oatmealy with cocoa and light roast and acidity. Mouthfeel is lighter but not light. Flavor is more mineral wit the roast and roast coming forward, also drags some of the roast acidity. Just a hint of unsugary sweet black malts. Low hop, dry black malt aftertaste. Maybe it’s the fatherhood cough but I’m digging this sout that isn’t particularly special.

Black color with generous tan head. The strong roasted malt blends well with the citrusy hops.
Nice.

Dark brown with a reddish hint. Light molassesy aroma with a hint of nuttiness. Sweet, touch of brown sugar, bit of foreign stout fruitiness, and just enough bitterness.

Draft pour. Dark pour with a tan head. Chocolate and coffee flavors, but pretty mild. I enjoyed it.

Darkened chocolate by with milk chocolate creme head that flattens, but remain thicker around the circumference. This one strikes a pleasant medium-chocolate roast in nose. The body has roastier accents, yet seems a bit watery. Altogether - nice profiles, though the body seems a bit underpowered.

Tap. Roasted malt aroma. Decent head. Opaque black color. Medium body. Coffee and toasted taste. Delicious beer. I would love to taste it on nitro or cask aged.

Coffee notes, without being excessive. hints of chocolate. Very good stout with a great color and nose. Honestly one of my favorite stouts. Especially on those cold, wet, dreary northwest days.

Tap. Black with a nice head. Aroma of black malt, chocolate and light smoke. Flavor picks up more smoke and some coffee roastiness, nice dry finish. While I really liked this beer it lacked that something special to make it the best stout ever. Solid though and I think with some tweaking could be one of those outatanding beers I seek out time after time.
