COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Loud, sassy, and relentless, the Rude Parrot has an insatiable appetite for hops! Brewed with Vienna, light Crystal, and a touch of Honey malt, this golden hued IPA is aggressively hopped with Simcoe and Citra hops. A big juicy, tropical fruit hop nose yields way to an off dry, pleasantly bitter finish. Drink up while you can, the Rude Parrot is flying circles around you!

Serving: from tap at 7 Seas Brewing. Aroma: piney hoppy. Appearance: small, frothy, light-brown, initial head with no lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, medium-amber body. Taste: moderately bitter initial flavor and lightly sour, grapefruity finish with long duration. Palate: medium bodied with dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall: excellent. Very good aroma and unique flavor.

Pour out of 16 oz bottle, clear orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of lots of pine, grass, nice lemon, biscuit, hints of orange peel, pretty nice, with some spice. Taste is a mix of sweet orange, grapefruit, mixing into bitter lemon, grass, some biscuit and caramel, finishing with some more spice, dry notes. Pretty nice.

16oz can. Pours a dark, not at all clear copper with some white head. Aroma and taste are citrus hops, biscuity malts. Overall a real solid beer.

16 oz can poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, orange zest, pine, pink grapefruit and light tropiucal fruit. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a watery finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, grapefruit and light pine with a smooth watery lightly bitter finish.

Fresh 16oz can. Pours a darker copper gold with faint haze. Very balanced nose, piney slightly fruity and catty hops, present but not cloying malt sweetness. Light mouthfeel, given the appearance. The hop taste is a touch soapy that wasn’t really detectable on the nose, they aren’t also overly bitter. Just really balanced and getting close to sessionable. Love that they are canning this, but $12 4 packs seem a bit steep. Good for them if they are getting that, but I will stick with Fremont IPA as my go to for under $10 for a six pack.

Can from Malt & Vine. Pours translucent copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of mild cat pee with mildly roasted malt. Full bodied. Flavor is very, very citrus. Somewhat burning citrus. Malt is almost lost. Some might say this is rather crude. Nothing sophisticated about the hop here. So? Those who don’t like lots and lots of hop bitter should avoid this very nifty ale. Brilliant effing ale!

Poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a clear gold body that supports an off white head of foam that leaves behind just a little bit of spotty lacing. The aroma offers up some citrus hops that consist of a little grapefruit and tangelo and then maybe a touch of malt sweetened tropical fruit. The taste is sort of grapefruity bitter and a little bit of an earthy orange peel note. It maintains hop bitterness where a touch of hop flavor seems to show up from time to time with faint whispers of malt sweetness way off in the background. Pretty good IPA.

Tap at Fiddlers.

Mid-range for an IPA in terms of color, grapefruit pith aroma and flavors. Another well-crafted and enjoyable Pac NW IPA though not particularly a standout.

Pint @ Pub at Piper’s Creek, $5.00. Better than the Dad’s Little Helper right before it, but just not the hop profile I was looking for. Finished too dry for my liking (though I suppose I drank the whole thing, so it wasn’t bad). My first 7 Seas. I really like their tap handles.

On tap. Not especially strong, but nonetheless very pleasant, fruity, citrus hop aroma. Flavor is similar, with a very good citrus/grapefruit element, pleasantly crisp, and quite bitter on the finish. Tasty and drinkable.
