COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aged a minimum of eight months, this English style Barley Wine displays a reddish, brown hue and exhibits prominent notes of ripe pit fruit, brown sugar, toffee, and a full-bodied, malty mouthfeel. Brewed with English Marris Otter, Munich, Aromatic, and two Caramel malts, including a touch of crystal Rye, the "Wheel Chair" is an ale to be contemplated, sipped, and savored. It will continue to evolve, gaining in complexity and nuance as it ages. Serve slightly below room temperature to fully appreciate this full-flavored, strong, and pleasantly warming vintage ale.

Brown in color, clear with a thin head. Nice barley malt and lots of alcohol in the aroma and flavor. Rich dried fruit flavors and a mild yeast lingers. Dry finish and sweet i really enjoyed this brew.

A: Poured a deep caramel color with red highlights and a small white cap S: Some caramel, dark fruits, light booze and a hint of honey and toffee T: Crystal malts are an immediate notice, with sweet sugar, dark fruits, caramel with a very subtle hop bite on the end mixed with some sticky honey notes M: Nig body, well carbobated, sticky sweet but yet it is oddle clean O: Pretty good and enjoyable from start to finish

On tap for Hard Liver ’12, pours an opaque dark orangey amber with a small tan head. Aroma of dried fruits (dates, apricots, macaroons), and caramel malts. Flavour of dry toasted bread, subtle dark fruits, liqueur, hops and lots of booze. ABV is not well-concealed - medium-bodied and medium complexity. Decent.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Wow, that is one fruity cloyingly sweet tootsie roll like Barley Wine.   Decent body, thick, but the medicinal tootsie roll on the backside kills it.   Somewhat of a brownish reddish color, moderate off-white head.   As the alcohol kicks in I kinda warm up to it, but overall its a bit too sweet and had too much of an artificial fruitiness to it.   Needs more hop bite to balance it out.   I’m done...

My Bottom Line:
HIgher alcohols delineate this Barley Wine’s rough honeyed fruitiness, as dusty undertones create confusion.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the lackluster reddish brown.
-Hops and mild tartness clash in the finish.
-The flavor profile was not entirely unpleasant, but definitely lacked cohesion.
-Body was plump; your standard Barley Wine mouthfeel.

On tap at Beveridge Place Pub.
