3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Leighton (6913) - London, ENGLAND - APR 24, 2013
Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell, London during the Birthday Celebration of Jack & Leighton - big thanks to Paul! Pours clearish amber with a fine, creamy cap. Good smoke in the nose, some hints of tangy fruits. Medium sweet flavor with moderate smoke, faint ham, definitely some off sour notes; I think this is a touch infected. Light bodied with average carbonation. Tangy finish, slightly earthy, with some berries, light ham. Yeah, a bit infected, unfortunately. Still some redeeming qualities, but this is not as intended.

Bottle thanks to Paul shared at Jack and Leightons birthday pleasantries, 13/04/13.
Hazed dark amber/orange with a thin beige head that clears to the edge.
Nose is smoke forward, background cereals and corn, light toffee.
Taste comprises tangy citrus notes, smoked wood, burnt caramel, sour fruits.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, smokey finish.
Decent enough fayre.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jackl (2513) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2013
Bottle. Cheers to whoever brought this along. The pour’s deep amber with a small head. The aroma’s of rich smokey ham. Ashy mineral. Rustic wood fire. The taste is accented by light citric hoppiness. A big of tang. This gives over to more rich smoke which overpowers the finish. Slightly uneasy marriage of flavors. Light body, medium carbonation. Overall, not a favorite.
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Scopey (3229) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2013
Bottle from 7Stern, shared at Leighton & Jack’s birthday celebrations. It pours hazy deep amber with a small beige head. The nose is big smokey goodness, smoked ham and bacon frazzles. The taste is tangy, smoke, bacon, sweet-sour aspect, sausage with HP sauce and asian cooking with a short finish. Unfortunately a bit past it, can’t imagine the tang is meant to be there. However still not bad.

50cl bottle shared by Scopey at CBC Clerkenwell. It pours adeep ruby / mahogany colour with a small beige head. Aroma is full on bacon and wood smoke. Some bratwurst in there as well, alongside to some caramel sweetness. Taste is similar, bacon, sausage, wood smoke and caramel. Quite sweet and bold in flavours. I can see myself drinking this one with an English breakfast or some German sausage.

Bottle via Cuso. Nice low wavy legs stick to the glass tightly and consistently remain close to the light tan head all the way down the glass. No lacing is left behind. Deep copper with moderate carbonation. A lovely gentle toned nose wafts from the glass. Body is similarly gentle and easy going. Smoked meat and honey emerge and linger shortly before stonefruit finish surrounded by smoke. Super Yum.
