COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
7Stern-owner Sigmund Flitter just loves Bamberg’s smoked beers. So he decided to use large quantities of beech-wood - smoked malt in this franconian-inspired "Rauchbier". Dark red to black in colour with an impressive smoky nose and a full, smoky body that gives way to a robust bitterness the 7Stern "Rauchbier" is the perfect drink for those who prefer hearty smoked food or a good after dinner cigar.

Reddish brown, creamy off white head. Sharp smoke, rounded of malts, nutty. Smooth but lively body. Interesting bitterness. Nice.

500 ml bottle. From Cuso. Vielen Dank!
Dark murky brown colour with small to average size creamy light tan head. Smoky aroma with smoked ham, malt and some sweetness. Flavour is also smoky. Mild sourness, malt and grainy dryness in flavour. Short aftertaste. Drinkable.

Dirty brown body light brown head. Aroma has smoke, sweet malt, ham. Flavour adds bit sourness, berry like tartness with bit veggies. Ok, but I don’t like smoked ones so much.

Bottle from Cuso, thanks! Murky brown color. Apricot, smoky bacon and beechwood in the aroma. Full bodied. Malty sweetish flavor with lots of apricot, beechwood and bacon. Tasty!

From Tap in the Brewpub/ The head is ok, the body is brown. It smells nice smoky-citrus. The taste is also smoky in a fine way, a bit fishy-smoky. Good one! 12/12/11/11/-/12

From keg @7 Stern Bräu, Wien. Hazed nut-brown with a beige lace on top. Sweet ashy malt aroma. Pepper and caramel tones, and a whiff og earthy hops. Taste is sourish-sweet with a distinct meaty smokiness. Notes of burnt wood and pepper. Medium body, slick mouthfeel. Smoke linger in the finish. A robust and well-made Smoked.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a dark ruby amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a fruity malty smoky woody caramel aroma. Slightly roasted malty smoky caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty smoky caramel finish.

For a "Bamberg" beer brewed in Vienna, it’s pretty, pretty, pretty tasty. Boasting a ham-like nose and dark but not opaque brownish-red color, this Rauchbier provides the unique Beech-smoked flavor typical of the style without making you think you are drinking a meal in a glass. Served in a tall yet lovely glass from 7 Stern, the Bamberger Rauchbier is probably the best they offer and one you must try if you haven’t had a true smoked beer (or can’t make it to Bamberg). Cheers!

On tap @ the brewpub. The aroma has caramel, smoke, bacon. Hazy, brown coloured beer with an off-white, lasting, medium head. The taste is a bit sweet, has caramel malts, smoked malts, meat, is light toasty. Light-medium bodied beer, closer to light bodied though. Clean and dry. This is very good.
