COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
7Stern-owner Sigmund Flitter just loves Bamberg’s smoked beers. So he decided to use large quantities of beech-wood - smoked malt in this franconian-inspired "Rauchbier". Dark red to black in colour with an impressive smoky nose and a full, smoky body that gives way to a robust bitterness the 7Stern "Rauchbier" is the perfect drink for those who prefer hearty smoked food or a good after dinner cigar.

’Adapted’ bottle at cgarvieuk’s, courtesy of the Drummer. Deep murky brown in appearance, with a wonderfully interesting, intriguing aroma of salami, bacon etc. Smoked meats/antipasti. Taste is smoky, slightly salty and fairly malty. Slightly watery, a touch thin, but gets a few points back for being interesting.

In bottle at Craig’s, thanks Dan. A brown rauchbier with a thin white head. Smoked ham aroma, lots of smoked malt. Smoked malt flavour with a thick malty body. Some caramel flavour also. A peppery finish with a bit of lingering yeast. Nice.

(draught) pours a hazy copper-amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of honey-glazed smoked ham and peppery debrecener, with hints of grain and grass. flavour is mostly the same, very smoky, with light notes of paint thinner and pea soup, a light sweetness and some hints of char. medium-bodied with average carbonation.
