COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A golden lager with a sweetish, herbal twist: The aroma of whole hemp leaves and the spicy bitterness resemble fresh-cut conifers and wild flowers. The hemp beer has a full, slightly sweetish body and an aftertaste that gives a long lingering unique impression of hemp. (Do not expect any other effects from this beer than a pleasant taste and a moderate alcohol content of less than five percent ABV).

[on tap at brewpub] Fairly potent citrusy (US?) hops aroma in front of a blast of sweet malt. Hazy dark yellow with very nice clingy, white foam. Fairly bland and soda watery flavour and mineraly bitterness. A little redeeming malty caramel comes in late in the flavour. Apricot and apple notes. Light body and thin with lasting bitterness and moderate carbonation.

Another freaky beer from the brewery, i take it away in the flip-top bottle. Nice straw colored beer body with a stable foamy head. Fine aroma of caramel and pale malt, some honey with fine herbal perfume of hemp. Interesting herbal-hemp taste within the flavor too with the character of a lager beer, some honey taste. Nice hemp beer, it hasn’t got the unpleasant flavor like other hemp beers. It was made with a good balance.

19/07 On tap at the brewpub. A most of their beers it had hazy golden body with medium sized white head. Light honey, vanilla malty and hemp aroma. Weak, slightly sweet flavor, chalky, fruity, a bit of hemp as well, but less than in aroma. Thin body with short finish. A bit watery, but not bad with actual weed notes.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2014 .5L mug at Siebensternbräu in Vienna. Luckily, I tried this ’gimmicky’ beer. The brewery’s description --"golden lager with a sweetish, herbal twist; The aroma of whole hemp leaves" -- is on target. This slightly hazy, golden lager has a bone head that leaves exceptional lacing. The aroma features malt + herbal + meaty smoke; the latter being unexpected and virtually undetectable upon tasting. Medium/full body with excellent carbonation. Creamy smooth yet a bit lively too. Hemp flavor? ... yes, I think ... an unusual herbal flavor in any case. spice and hops and baked bread in the fine aftertaste. Excellent sweet/bitter balance. O: a unique lager with a substantial malt and herbal base. Enjoyed from start to finish. If in Vienna, worth the trip.

(Old BA rate - tap) Frothy white two fingers worth of foam. Light, hazy yellow-orange gold color. Really good lacing, which I would expect. Bit flowery, didn’t pick up any resiny aromas that I would have been looking for. Some cooked vegetables and sweetish maltiness. A touch flowery as with the aroma, but really not a whole lot to report on here. Nothing offensive, but nothing really stands either. Thin MF, muted carbonation, and passes over the palate without much notice. Just OK. Nothing inspiring here

Draught at the brewpub, smallish head, a touch hazy yellow colour, light malty aroma with with hints of fruit and herbs, citrusy flavour with some herbs, light bitterness. Not much differentfrom your average lager, nothing special.

Hazy gold with a small white, lasting head. Smells of spice, herbal notes, malt, bread and some vegetable. Tastes of a soft marzen ith herbal elements, citrus lemon, malt, butter and bread. Finishes dry and bitter. Nice enough but nothing much here. On a hot day, it’s ok.

Draught at 7 Stern Brau, Vienna. Notes from July 08. Pours a dark orange with medium white head. Pleasant spicy aroma. Flavour of caramel malt, herbs and a slight honey touch. Another well balanced beer from this brewer and really enjoyed this one.

Tap at brewpub. Hazy watery golden yellow. Medium white head, some lacing. Nose is herbal with muted fruit, not unlike a UK pale ale. Palate is reasonably interesting, herbs, citrus and something vegetable but over a disappointingly thin body. Inoffensive but totally dull.

Draught at brew pub. Small white head, and yellow color. Odd aroma. Weird finish. Not impressive.
