3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Old BA rate - tap)
Generous two finger white head; bright straw golden color. Chunky lacing. Crystal like malt aromas with an earthier hop presence. Snappy Pilsner-like crisp hop bitterness; little touch of German maltiness. Pretty clean and very refreshing. Thinner to Medium MF, but very much expected for the style. Smooth over the palate, and not dry in the finish. Good to great drinkability. Refreshing, interesting enough.

Hazy deep blond color; nice lace. The aroma is a bit light, but it has a good crispy malt flavor and balanced bitterness. Pleasant.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewpub: This is really a hop-forward Helles: The aroma is grassy-hoppy, lightly berry-fruity with a touch of citric acidity. Very low levels of butterscotch too. The flavour is super fresh, hemp-like and herbal hops with minerals and crisp, bready malts. A lean and drinkable mouthfeel, not really bitter despite the evident hoppiness. The only thing I’d like to change about this is the somewhat sticky aftertaste.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled at Dogbrick’s Eurostash tasting on 4.30.09. Semi-opaque yellow pour with a big white head. Malty aroma with lager yeast. Flavors of malt, yeast, some hops and something else I can’t really pick out but the closest I can get is cheese.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draught at the brewpub. The beer is a slightly cloudy gold color with a medium thin and fizzy white head that burns away steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Malty aroma with notes of yeast and hops. Light body with flavors of malt, grassy hops and yeast. The finish is clean with fruit and wheat flavors left over. Slightly above average overall.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The beer had an amber body with a minimal tan head. Some moderated caramel and bready malt aroma, light citric hop perfume. Easy flavor of caramel malt, some savoury, grainy malt, with a herbal-grassy hops.
