Doggythedog (1074), Split, Croatia Jan 14, 2008 Bottle, courtesy of and shared with ozujsko whose gf brought it from Wien (thanks!)<br /> Poured a misty apricot-golden colour with a medium-big sized thick white head that went away slow. The nose was... odd. Rice crackers. The taste was a huge letdown. Rie crispies & hay. Almost nothing else. Weak, kinda odd hopiness, some weak malt presence. Blah. Not impressive at all. A bad batch? I sure hope so because this is dull and definitely not what I expected from the brewer of that great Rauchbier.
MiP (6289), Flensburg, Germany Nov 27, 2008 Draught, 4.7% at the brewpub. Good bready aroma, citric aroma hops. Cloudy dark yellow colour. Stable plasticky white head, giving the frothy mouthfeel I do not particularly like. The flavour is OK bready. Medium bitterness, rough in an OK way. Hint of soft fruit in the finish. downender (1725), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Oct 4, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Golden in colour with a big, foamy white head. Aroma of hay, bready malts and a hint of yeastiness. Flavour had savoury, grainy malt, with a herbal edge and some grassy hops. Drinkable. swoopjones (1234), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 1, 2008 on tap @ 7 Stern Brau, Vienna. Pours light pale yellow with a slightly floral, herbal, sweet aroma. Taste is dry, floral & malty sweet. Creamy mouthfeel.Nice saaz driven bitterness. One of the better helles I had over there. dunkpigen (311), Kolding, Denmark Jul 29, 2008 Tap @ the brewpub, Vienna. Pours hazy orange with a nice big white creamy head. Almost no aroma - a bit flowery hops and butter. Flavour is flowery hops with butter/toffee. Mouthfeel is creamy and full.
pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Jul 21, 2008 On draught at the brewpub: golden, firm lacy and creamy white head; solid hoppy (Saaz !) and sweet-malty nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, soft MF, light to medium bodied; distinctive sweet-malty finish with a hoppy-aromatic aftertaste. A very good Pils.............
