vyvvy (1775), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Apr 19, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear copper with a nice full dense white head. The aroma has toasted malt with a bit of hops. Medium body that is slick with some gentle carbonation. The taste starts off with roasted malt that is lightly nutty with some sweetness. The finish has some earthy woody hops that leave a light resinous taste. An acceptable APA.
Gregis (937), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Apr 16, 2008 Pours a clear pale amber with a thin off-white head and wispy lace. The aroma is sweet and doughy with a light floral note. Light-bodied and thin with a soft slick mouthfeel and a mildly bitter finish. The flavor is of sweet, slightly bready and fruity malt with an "off" plastic note that finishes bitter. This started a fairly bland but decent mild quaffer and degraded from there. This is not the best pale that these guys have made. tjthresh (1348), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Mar 31, 2007 A beer to commemerate the great fire of 07! What a damn mess. There is so much caramel malts in here that the hops don’t really stand a chance. The aroma is of honey or buttered buiscts. The flavor was cloying with an astrigant finish. Not a very good welcome back.
