An American style Oatmeal Stout. The Aviator is medium to full bodied, with a hint of roasted coffee and chocolate, and a rich malty taste. It is complimented with Fuggles and US East Golding hops. Big, bold and delicious.

Sampler at the brewpub. The color was a very dark black with a very thin heady. The aroma was light chocolate. It was a decent oatmeal stout.

Pours a nut brown body with a large forthy beige head and descent lacing. Aroma of mustiness, cocoa, and roastiness. Flavor of baked oats and roasted malt

On tap at the brewpub. Comes a very dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Taste is sweet and creamy. Malt and choclolate apparent. Pleasant.

Gregis (1270) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - OCT 26, 2008
Dimpled mug at the brewpub. Pours jet black with a thin, uber-creamy light tan head; nice sheeting lace. The nose is of sweet roasty malt with a lactose sweetness in support. Light to medium-bodied and super slick with a mildly sour finish. Sweet, dark roast, cocoa, lactic sweetness and a mild dark roasted bitterness at the finish. A nice stout and extremely quaffable for a beer at this ABV. I’d be surprised if the 8%, listed here, is accurate.

BlackDonald (1127) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUN 4, 2008
The oatmeal is really apparent in this stout, giving in a smooth, but sweet rich malt quality. There is also some nice chocolate and lingering coffee roastiness, and a small dose of dark fruits as well. Overall pretty thin and light bodied, with a slightly smaller finish than I was expecting

Sample at the brewpub. Pours flat black with a medium thick light tan head that diminishes slowly. Patches of lace on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee, along with a touch of dark chocolate. Medium, smooth body with roasted malt and hops flavors. Some coffee and dark fruit is present too. The finish is short and roasty with a lingering coffee aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

10 ounce serving. Black with a thick brown head. Coffee, chocolate, and oats. in the aroma and flavor. A bit on the watery side. Good, but pretty basic.

Tap, brewpub, part of six pack sampler. Pour is dark brown / black with a tight tan head. Get the malty / oatmeal aroma immediately. Roast flavor, with a nice full, creamy body. Finish is sweet and sugar, but closes nice and quick.

This looked pretty good. Dark dark brown beer with a good sized head. Head looked like wet cement - thick and gray. Chocolate overtones abound in this beer. A thinner beer than I expected however. I think it’s average.

Very tasty but very thin, with a slick and very light mouthfeel. Creamy and full of some dark chocolate and roasty coffee, but has some hints of french silk pie, very smooth and creamy, just could use more body.
