Indra (1818), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Feb 19, 2003 Grainy, faintly bready lightly fruity and sweet aroma. Medium-dark red-orange in color, fading head. Fruity and sweet flavor as well, with some pear and apple, and grainy, biscuity malt and spiciness, maybe even a little cinnamon?. Very slightly syrupy mouthfeel, and finishes sweet. Rye beers really are unique enough to fit their own category. The distinctive spicy fruitiness that they offer is quite difficult to find in beers made with other ingredients. Seemingly a session ale in terms of intent, but fairly interesting.
