seamus77 (31), kansas city, Missouri, USA Jun 27, 2006 quite an unimpressive attempt, especially when compared with the american wheat they make. mouthfeel is almost foamy. hazy yellow color, and a flavor so underwhelming that it fades from memory as fast as it fades from the taste buds.
tjthresh (1348), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Jun 22, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. Pour a hazy yellow with very little head in a plain ol’ pint glass. Smells just like a banana boat, or at least what I’d imagine a banana boat would smell like. Some spicey phenols and some citric character. Banana is still up front in the flavor. Phenolic and yeasty. A nice hit of bitterness. Some DMS. Doughy on the palate. It hit the spot this time. Indra (1873), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Feb 19, 2003 Strong aroma with banana, clove, and lemony citrus. Dark, cloudy golden in color and a medium head. Very apparent wheat malt flavor, along with the spicy, estery yeast and pervasive citrus which carries through to the sharp finish. A by-the-numbers German Wheat, but doesn't really suffer for it. Very citrusy and served with an un-asked for slice of lemon. Why anyone would want it is beyond me, this one is very lemony as-is.
