tjthresh (1348), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Sep 10, 2005 Listed at the brewpub as KC Light. I called and they said it was there kolsch. I thought it was pretty good when drinking it. Its just not a very good kolsch. Entirely too fruity. Full bodied, wheaty, and sweet as hell. Hazy golden yellow. Soft on the tongue, and quite mouthfilling. I think of kolsch as refreshing. This is not what I’d call a refresher.
seamus77 (31), kansas city, Missouri, USA Jun 27, 2006 confused over the kolsch vs kc light name (they’d do well to drop any name with "light" in the title) it was served up in a wine glass style, dissapointingly, i hoped for the trad. straight, narrow kolsch glass, but dissapoinment ended there. light yellow and light bodied as all kolsch are, but a nice sweet fruityness that caught me off guard. this brew just slides down the throat, easy drinking, refreshing, probably easy on the beginner’s palate though not a great intro to the kolsch style. still, a nice attempt nonetheless and worthy of another glass or two Sledge Jr (2721), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 6, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. Pale yellow in color. At first, this is very sweet, then the flavor fades fast leaving you with a bitter bite at the end. The aroma is a nic malty straw-like nose. The finish is really rough on the palate. csbosox (997), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jan 1, 2005 Tasting sample, 4-5oz. Golden color, white head. Hoppy aroma. The flavor was sweet transitioning to some hops flavor. Not really bitter to speak of. I had no idea what the style of this beer was before I looked it up, but it wasn’t bad. Light and easy drinking.
