Gregis (937), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Jun 3, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear, deep amber with a creamy, off-white head. The aroma is fruity and malty with distinct notes of pears. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and almost creamy with a lightly metallic finish. The flavor follows the nose, beginning with a sweet yeasty faint bubble gum front and an effervescent sweet, malty, clean finish. A very drinkable maibock and quite tasty to boot. tjthresh (1348), Greenfield, Indiana, USA May 14, 2006 On tap at the brewpub, this 10% lager was served in a snifter glass. Golden to light amber with ample white head. Good lace. Very clean aroma with some spiceness, and a certain peach/pear aroma that I rather liked. Ther aroma carries over to the flavor as well. Completly devoid of alcohol character untill it reachs almost room temp. Finishes with a nice floral bitterness. Easy drinking mouthfeel. Not too shabby. Indra (1873), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA May 22, 2005 Sampled on cask (firkin), I believe making this the first cask-conditioned lager that I’ve yet sampled. Strongly grainy aroma, abundant maltiness, plenty of lightly toasty, bready sweetness and floral hops. Thoroughly cloudy medium amber color with a think cask head and respectable lacing. Flavor characteristics are balanced well throughout, the sweet maltiness and light, flowery, apple-pear fruitiness mingling with the lightly spicy, moderately bitter hops and faint alcoholic presence. Nicely smooth mouthfeel and medium bodied. Pretty tasty, actually.
