OldJack99 (115), USA Sep 2, 2002 I like how they use the nitrogen. Makes it a frothyer and creamier beer.
Good chocolate & coffee notes in this stout, I enjoyed it. Nuffield (2555), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jan 2, 2005 Nice vinous, roasted aroma, with grapes/port and slightly hoppy. Very dark black, fully opaque, with only a light brown at the edges. A little watery, all things considered. Smoke finish. Decent, drinkable. (on tap at Lawrence, KS location) Braudog (3464), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jun 12, 2005 Solid tan cream top on a black beer. This is very creamy and moderately bitter, mildly sweet wtih a bitter chocolate twist. Above average micro-stout. acrdz (4486), Boulder, Colorado, USA May 23, 2004 Deep brown with a dark tan head. Rich and very smoky, but lacking much beyond that. Stale malt flavor behind the smoke and evident very strongly in the finish. Rich coffee nose with some chocolate, very nice. Sledge Jr (2721), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 6, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. 19 IBUs. Dry, creamy and smooth. Great mouthfeel because of the thickness. Subtle smoke flavor. Coats the glass with the lacing. Substantial head. Black in color with a beige head. Not very roasted, but easily my favorite offering from this brewer.
