COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unmistakably malty, Possum Trot draws its inspiration from the classic brown ales of England. This unique style, given Kansas City's original nickname, combines a variety of barley to produce a toasty, nutty malt flavor with a slight hop bitterness in the finish for balance. Gold Medal Winner at the 1997 Great American Beer Festival. Bronze Medal Winner at the 1998 International World Beer Cup.

Draft at brewpub. Poured brown with a medium-sized, creamy tan head. Aroma was malty, light roast, slightly resinous hops. Flavor was moderately malty, some nuttiness, faint chocolate. Mouthfeel was thin, a bit astringent, sort of fizzy. So-so brown ale.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep brown color with white head. Roasted, nutty, malty, toffee flavors. Pretty good brown, my favorite beer of their main beers.

Draft at the brewpub .. . KC! . Pours a dark tan, light foam .. . some maple and molasses .. . thin .. . made with possums?? .. . a decent brown but straight brewpub style .. . . Draught @ Brewpub: This one poured a fairly dark brown color. Mine had almost no head on it and what was there left no lacing. There is a nice nose to it. Faint chocolate and nutty notes. Maybe some floral hops. The taste is good. There is a faint nuttiness to it, as well as some chocolate. Medium malt body. Decent and an easy drinker.

Dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Sweet caramel and nutty aroma and taste with hints of roasted grain molasses and tart citrus to the back end.

Sampler at the brewpub. It poured a brownish color. The aroma was of nuts, with a little bitterness and a sharp finish. It was pretty robust compared to a lot of brown ales. A very decent brew.

On tap @ 75th Street. Dark red/brown appearance with a creamy light tan head. Roasty, nutty brown malty nose. Slightly low carbonated mouthfeel. Roasty, nutty flavor with some bittering hops on the finish.

This draft brew from a beer festival poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized dark tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation semi-opaque dark brown colored body. The mild aroma was brown malt. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of brown malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.
