harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 1, 2006 Decent brown ale, hearty with alot of body for the style. Has alot of rich chocolate and caramel maltiness, with just a hint of hoppy biterness coming through in the finish.
BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jun 4, 2008 I was surprised out how tasty this was. Acutally thought it was a nut brown, as it has some rich characteristics of almonds and hazelnuts. Some chocolate and toffee as well in the flavor, rich and roasty, with some spicy bittering hops towards the finish. Pretty darn good. Dogbrick (2348), Columbus, Ohio, USA Feb 8, 2008 Sample at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a medium and foamy light tan head that has decent retention. Patches of lace on the glass. Light hazelnut and malt aroma. Medium, smooth body with a nutty character. Light floral hops and malt are present as well. The finish is smooth and nutty with touches of chocolate in the aftertaste. Slightly above average all around. topherh (289), Kearney, Missouri, USA Jan 31, 2008 on tap pour appears to be nitro. Very thick almost stout-like appearance. Aroma is of roasted malt and a little coffee. Very smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is of roasty malt, a little chocolate and some spicy hops. iowaherkeye (1427), relocated to Santa Rosa f/Iowa, California, USA Dec 23, 2007 On tap at the brewpub 02/02/07. Clear ruby brown with a ring of beige head. Aroma was simply of chocolate and toasted malts. Flavor was the same, though there was a little bit of coffee coming through. Semi dry finish--at some point I got some spicy earthy hops. Light to moderate carbonation with a medium body. Not as good as the IPA, and that wasn’t awesome. Gregis (937), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Jun 7, 2007 Arguably the best of 75th Street’s five standard offerings, this beer pours a deep reddish-brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is of deep roasted malts, caramel and faint chocolate with a mild hoppiness in the background. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and sticky with a lightly bitter end. The flavor is of well rounded dark malts, caramel and a hint of chocolate and brown sugar with a lightly bitter hop finish. A tasty brown.
