Pours a deep black with a nose of coffee grounds and coffee grounds. Flavor is coffee grounds with a chocolate-covered raisin finish. Smooth on the tongue. Tasty beer. Would love more.

Nitro pint at the brewpub. Very cold. Nose is very light because of the temp. Tastes of slightly burnt malts, strong coffee evident but not overwhelming. Smooth palate and very easy drinker.

Shaker pint at the brewpub. Pour is black, with nitro settling and a nice sturdy tan head. Aroma of bitter espresso coffee, and a dry chalkiness. Taste is the chalky espresso, quite bitter and drying. There is a hint of bitter sweetness in here as well - dark chocolate. The First few sips of this were ok, though it got overly chalky after that. Interesting beer concept.

Nitro smoothness ,expresso flavored with bittersweet chocolate notes , the pruny fruity belgiany finish seemed a bit odd but went extremely well with the 5 onion soup.

Lightly roasty, sweet, cocoa in the aroma, creamy and gently coffeeish. Rather slight effect overall. Ebony in color with a lasting, thin, typically nitro-induced head. Flavor really does have a good bit of espresso bean character, being brewed with them as this is, along with touches of dark brown sugar, earthy, lightly spicy hops, semi-sweet chocolate and finishing with a light dosage of bitterness and some lingering raisin/prune character. Mouthfeel is thinly creamy in that inimitable nitro way, but coats the palate nicely. Body is medium. Surprisingly hoppy flavor notes here and there, for not so much bitterness. Also avoids being fully dry. Some nice espresso touches here.
