On tap at the brewery. Pours a amber brown color with white head. Malty, caramel, bitter, some alcohol in flavor. Interesting beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Comes golden brown with a small biege head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and hops. Taste is malt, citrus hops, caramel, and a bit of smoke. Nice.

Sampled at the 2011 KC Strong Ale Festival. Pour is a hazed orange brown with a smallish light tan head. Aroma is quite malty, nice peat notes, though they are a bit faint. The taste is the malt, nice round peat, gentle earthiness, and clsoes with a bright citrus hop note that lingers. Palate is on the light side of medium, the bright hops in the finish make this dry and easy drinking. Nice straight forward flavors, clean and tasty. Both of the 75th Street beers at the festival were solid.

Copper color appearance...this is not a typical scotch ale because the brewery have made some twists by adding more hops, calling it a ’hop scotch’ ale...very drinkable and the alcohol content is well hidden (for being over 10%)...white head and some lacing that disappears after three quarters gone...overall a good scotch ale hybrid, with malty sweetness/some smokiness and bitterness

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear copper brown color with a medium thin and compact light beige head that diminishes slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Earthy malt aroma with notes of caramel and hops. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, hops and oak. The finish is dry and sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent Scotch Ale overall.

Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - OCT 13, 2009
Draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark ruby brune body with an off white head. This scotch was also particularly heavily hopped or had a dry hopped finish. Most of the flavors dark woody, peat, and caramel malts were masked by a green woody hop character. A some floral notes and a mild warming. A decent beer, not a good scotch ale.
