3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy brownish amber with a medium creamy off white head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of caramel, spicy hop Belgian yeast notes and piney/citrusy hop notes. Flavor of toasted and caramel malt, dark fruits and a powerful hop bitterness and piney/grapefruit hop flavor.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
~ 5-6 oz sample glass at the brew pub in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a mostly clear auburn golden, with not much of a head. The aroma is dusty grain, and not a whole lot else. There is a touch of floral maybe. The taste is toasted grain, then some sharp nut followed by some synthetic sweetness, and finishing with some yeast and heat. The palate is medium bodied, slick and oily mouth feel, and a thin finish. Pretty harsh stuff, reminded me of home brew.
