4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Hazy golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Loose bits of lace. Very nice fruity kind apricoty nose, kind of a rich marzipan-like desert flavor, mild white wine. Notes of citrus. Really nice, complex aroma. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter, light bit of tart. Fantastic, ultra-complex very tasty belgian strong ale. Seeing the coconut and sunscreen that someone else mentioned. One of the best, more interesting American-belg strongs I’ve tried.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
375 ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have some malt sweetness, fruity, mild Chardonnay barrel character, slightly buttery, wood, a touch prickly at the finish. Decent.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a medium to deep golden color with a finger of foam that settles out quickly. Nose is a mix of sweet white grape juice, cardboard and apple juice. Palate follows with a strange rubbery quality that comes across kind of like brushing your teeth with mint toothpaste and then sipping apple juice. Bitter, medicinal, slight caramel... strange.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A Tripel-like strong belgian blonde ale with a gentle chardonnay flavor. Good.
How: Bottle 375ml, thick off-white wax. Consumed many months after receiving it from MikeLuke23, thanks a lot Mike.
The look: Almost clear blonde body topped by a persistent small white head.
In long: Nose is estery, a bit phenolic, discreet presence of chardonnay barrels. In mouth the beer has an slightly oily texture with a medium carbonation, not exactly the lively mouthfeel I expect from a good Belgian ale but it might be due to the time spent in barrels. Taste is like a typical Belgian Tripel with a good chardonnay presence. This Chardonnay character is true chardonnay, I didn’t even get a barrels sensation, it was more like someone took a classic Belgian Tripel (let’s say a St. Bernardus Tripel) and then poured a shot of white wine in it. I never had the base beer, I don’t even know if it is sold without treatment, but I think there is a good Tripel-style beer in there, I would probably like the base beer as much (if not more) than this chardonnay treatment, but nowadays only barrel aged beers are taken seriously. Just another bottle I drank on a weekday, and as I closed my refrigerator door and poured myself a glass of juice I swear I heard a muffled collective “what the fuck?” coming from within my beer cellar.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Waxed 12oz bottle from a long lost trade. Poured the night before my son comes home from the hospital. Last night of rest for quite some time. Pours a slightly hazy light yellow with a big white thick head. Aroma is pear, fruit, white wine and some oak. Taste is overtly sweet and white wine like with a slight lactic sour but the sweet white wine and corn play against each other and make this one something I don’t think I can finish more than 4oz of for fear of a nasty headache come the morning.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sticky lace atop the light yellow body. Lactic, wine barrely, pungent aroma. Spikes of sweetness mixed with Brett and other funk. Tasty.
