Quart swing cap growler from Beer_nerd305, thanks Adrian. Shared this with Scott after some pipes and drums over at Rinn Duin. Poured a syrupy orange amrmalade colored body with a smaller to average white head. Aroma did not match the flavor at all. Notes of vanilla candles, sherbert, grains, ddry medium toast with some older orange slices and rotting citrus. Palate is medium overall that has a sticky mouthfeel that finishes bitter and dry with stronger carbonation. Flavor is more DIPA like than the aroma. Notes of grapefruit, citrus rind, hop resin, alcohol, dry grains and toast. Nice stuff but the nose is just weird for the flavor.

Sampled draught as a 4 oz pour at the brewpub on January 19, 2014.
Listed to be 10% ABV.
Hazy golden color, small off-white head. Intense hoppy scent that somehow draws towards herbs and onions. Some caramel, hoppy, light bitter taste. Bitter, hoppy aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Sticky honey is greeted by long-lasting resinous hoppiness and alcohol warmth in this flavourful but brash Double IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the cloudy yellow-hued pale amber.
-Hops are bright enough for this type of brew. The high level of residual sugars doesn’t help on that front.
-This almost drinks like a young Barley Wine.
-This works very well with spicy (chilli) foods.
On tap at Cajun Café on the Bayou.

Growler, supplied by hopscotch—many thanks! Toetagged on container as 10%. Reads "11.3.13" from same tag. Shit, it might have been too long. Oh, well. To oversized snifter, it pours a syrupy dark orange with which a sudsy, whitish head 1 fingernail in length stood. I think the hops have deadened a bit, but I’m still getting some tropical fruits, American hops, celery, rolled oats, flaked barley, and pine cones. Tastes the same only with the addition of burnt plastic, toffee, and spelt by swallow. Crap, I think this is past its prime, still drinkable and pretty good stuff despite its age.
