Pours clear, darker straw yellow with a white head. The is pleasant bringing sweet candy soft notes and crisp pilsner notes. The flavor brings light tart crisp notes with a smooth, lighter ending. I expected more tart, but it is light, crisp, and smooth.

Growler at James’ tasting. Pours gold with a white head. Lemony and wheaty, with some weird grainy and vegetal notes. Not awful. Maybe this lost something in shipping?

Growler via MikeLuke23, thanks! Pours a hazy straw yellow with strange tan head for the beer color. Aroma is very minimal, old grass, slight mildew. (not as off putting as that sounds.) Taste is very bland when very cold. Odd malt/vegetable aftertaste that is not pleasant. The sourness is not there at all. Letting it warm up brings out the greatness of this beer. The vegetable goes away and the malt fades but the lactic sourness comes out and steps to the forefront of this beer. Refreshing but not the best berliner out there but a very nice offering.

Very pale. The aroma is slightly tart, with some light celery notes. Soft, lightly fruity with hints of celery. Only mild tartness. Good version.

Growler courtesy of Markwise in the growler swap, that I brought to a tasting at James’ place. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Vegetal aromas, stewed veggies, weird. Medium bodied, grainy lager flavors. Not a lot going on, and really no acid to speak of. Drinkable, but didn’t live up to what I had hoped for. Alas.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 rbrazell (356) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Draft at Redlight. I’m guessing this is the one I’m drinking since the bartender had no clue. Seriously, what’s whappening? Anyway, pours a slightly hazy pale yellow with a rocky white head. Nose is old dough, cat piss and a light grain aspect. Very light citrus and grain up front fading into funky yeast notes. Finishes dry and a bit tart. A very raw beer.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beerlando (3324) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Draft at Redlight Redlight. Consumed side-by-side with bottled Bruery Hottenroth for comparison purposes. The pour yields a very lightly hazy golden-straw body strewn with effervescing micro-bubbles. A thin and wispy head of off-white foam is quick to dissipate. Scant wet spots of lace rejoin the body. The nose is very wheat heavy, showing clean cereal grain notes that dominate the secondary lactic acidity. It’s a little muddled for a Berliner, not as crisp as the better examples of the style. Flavors follow the nose, coming across just a bit more wet than I care for, with a strong wheat contingent. Lactic acidity is again lacing, and I’d prefer a little more in the way of citrus tendencies. The palate is a bit round, not as lively and sharp as the great Berliners are. Decent brew, but it is definitely not without fault.

Growler shared by blazer06. Clear pale yellow. Crisp lemon ice, lemon curd aroma. Brisk op in background. Incredible balance, light soft palate, low carb maybe from the hand pour. Sweet pale malt backbone, spritzy and just sour enough, although there isn't a lot of lactic acid. A super floriner.
