4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rich ruby and light brownish coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall pink head. Aroma of raspberries, light malt, caster sugar, cherries and a very pleasant oak and dry tart smell. Medium-bodied; Assertive raspberry sweetness up front with some added icing sugar and a very pleasant fruit note with cherries, blackberries and especially raspberries - very nice. Aftertaste shows a great tart, crisp finish with the icing sugar sweetness and a great oaky and dry maltiness that couples well with the fruits. Overall, a great and well-balanced fruit beer with a pungent raspberry flavour and a nice sweetness. I sampled this four ounce pour on draught at the brewpub here in Dunedin, Florida on 03-January-2014 for US$2.
