Bottle, 2013, #229/500. Pours clear black, small tan head, decent residual and lacing. Aroma is roasty, vanilla, earthy. Flavor is lots of vanilla, roasted malt, light plus sweet, medium bitter, a bit sharp in the middle. Medium body, perhaps a tad watery. Interesting.

Dark brown pour, brown head. This is a really neat beer. I kind of got the flavors of a nice imperial stout mixed with some root beer. The vanilla shines and the sweet potato adds a rich flavor that goes really well in this. Nice stuff.

Bottle... Muckfest 2014... Hazy dark-brown pour with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Decent retention. The bouquet is both nutty and chocolaty. Full-bodied with laid-back. The flavor is deeply-roasted and offers loads of bitter cocoa, followed by a lengthy, carbonic, bitter finish.

12.7 oz bottle. Dark brown with tan foam. Nose is cocoa, ash, vanilla and caramel. Creamy body with a lively buzz. Is this supposed to taste like root beer? Kinda does with vanilla upfront, getting earthy with coffee bean. The sweet potato comes out with warming; maybe some nutmeg.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours black with a creamy dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of sweet dark grains and vanillia with a bit of sweet potato and spice. Flavor is similar with more sweet potato that works with the dark grains and vanilla.

Enjoyed a pint of this excellent beer at the brewpub. The beer was black and somewhat thick in color and body with an off white head with good retention, cling and lacing. Its taste featured a blend of sweet potato, coffee, and notes of toffee and malt. It had an aroma mixed with coffee, chocolate, and roasty earth tones. It was a wet and creamy beer with a smooth body and average carbonation.

Bottle share thanks to Beechner224’s doge. Very gourd-y nose to it with some cinnamon and clove. Taste is chocolate with some smoothness type of mouthfeel from the vanilla. Solid but not something I would go out of my way to get.
