Aroma-spicy fruit and fig. Pours cloudy brown with a tan head. Taste comes through with a whole lot of barrel character while remaining fairly balanced. Deffinately leaves you wanting another!

bottle shared by tom10101, thanks bro! pours almost clear brown-mahogany with a nice reviving light beige cap, some retention and lacing. spicy candi and lots red fruitiness - cherries, some sweetness - brown sugar and lean molasses, oak, minty and soft resinous notes. lively to average carbonation, medium body, very lightly tart and astringent grassy-oaky-spicy finish. not very complex but a very satisfyingly tasty barrel-aged dark fruity belgian. reminiscence of unibroue 17. quite enjoyed this one!

Bottle (375 ml). From Mark, thanks!

Appearance: Slightly hazy deep mahogany with a medium beige/brown head and little lacing.

Aroma: Dark fruits, strong oak presence, hints of vanilla, light spiciness and toffee.

Taste: Oak forward and quite acidic too with not much residual sugar, light spiciness, vanilla notes and subdued toffee.

Palate: Medium body (light for the style). Medium carbonation. Tannic. Fruity finish.

Overall: Not bad at all, but I’m not sure the result here is what was intended. It’s light and quite acidic for the style. Still, it’s tasty and somewhat enjoyable.

Brown pour, wispy tan head. Sweet and tart flavors. Oaky, brown sugar, hints of cherries, yeast. Interesting if not a bit odd.

375mL bottle pours with a clear amber body that supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up malts, barrel notes, nuttiness, chocolate and brown sugar covered dark fruitiness. The taste is malty sweet yet it has some tart barrel notes and then more fruitiness toward the finish. The fruit leans toward dates with a smidgen of fig. Another tasty one from Justin. Keep up the goodness.

Bottle share T. Hanks to Beachner90210. Pours a hazy brown minimal head. Light brown. Taste is slightly woody with some alcohol from the beer, not the barrel. Maybe a Virgin barrel? Pretty solid but not phenomenal.

Bottle share thanks to beechner224. Pours a fairly cloudy reddish brown color. Fruity esters, cherry, sweet malty and some light funk. Light cherry notes, alcohol, sweet, some light tartness in the finish.

Pours cloudy amber brown. Some sweetness in the aroma, maybe some vanilla? Taste is smooth, sweet, some vanilla, really nice. Finishes a little slick.

A: Dark Brown/Black Hue, Passes No Light, Brownish Head Ring, Mild Lacing S: Mildly Boozy, Mild Dark Fruit T: Dark Fruit, Sweet Bread, Mild Oak Flavor M: Mediocre Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Sweet, mildly Boozy Overall, I am usually for BA variations that differ from your typical stout but something tells me that the base beer wasnt that good to begin with, then tossed a bad barrel aging in ont top of it. Not for me.
