Bottle from Real Ale Store, Newark. Drunk during the Great North Run weekend. Traditional British bitter done very well. Touch of chocolate, orange juice, tangy - good fresh flavours - decent malty, decent hops. Yummy. I could drink beers like this all day long. Off points - a bit too bitter for my taste, and a little too thin and dry.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a dark amber colored beer with a small, off-white head. Strange fruity nose with some malts and an earthy touch. Rather herbal bitterness, some caramel in the flavor. Medium body, dry. Bitter finish. Hmm, not sure about this one, it sure didn’t suit my palate, but I can’t really point out what’s wrong. 110318

Bottled. A mid brown, headless, beer. A bit of an odd un this. Very English with a little orangey goldings but tons of very earthy fuggles. There’s a bit of chocolate and wood on the nose. Odd late bitterness and some rubber possibly from underpar bottling.

Bottle. Amber brown with a thin foam. Aromas are toffee and weetabix malts with some nuttiness. Winter berries with cookie dough yeast. Lightly smoky with rye. Flavours are dry tea with hazelnut and weetabix and rye malts. Bitter lemon with dry, earthy hops on the finish. A decent traditional bitter.
