500ml bottle, best before October 2011, from Beers of Europe. Very dark colour. Almost opaque. Tan head and lively condition. deep roast and chocolate aroma. More of the same on the palate but rather less full. Light mouthfeel. A very decent mild but doesn’t quite maintain the promise of the aroma throughout.

500ml bottle. Forms a small head that lasts for the duration. Very chocolately aroma. Good body, thankfully not as watery as some milds can be. Tastes a bit metallic at times. Overall a good example of this style.

Clear dark red brown colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, cold coffee. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, cold coffee, dark chocolate, thin. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Bottle. Pitch black beer with a very light head. The aroma is gently roasted, and the flavour is very bittter, roasted, and slightly milky at the finish. Overall a slightly above average mild.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours opaque black with a small tan head. Surprisingly rich with a very thick and pleasant mouthfeel. Roasted malt with a little chocolate and almost an ovaltine like flavour to it. I really like this one and will certainly buy it again.
