2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
I tried this beer quite a while ago and all that I can recall is the unpleasant experience. Too spicy, too herbal, much more bitter than I would have expected. A metallic bite on all those herbs, as if a tin of Twinnings infusions had been dropped into the vat. Ø for søppel.
Perhaps I should re-visit this product, but I doubt it will happen, with so much good stuff being produced around, including fabulous brews by the three accused for brewing this chimaera.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika- sept 2012. Dark amber color, good foam. Aromas of hops ( pine), caramel, toffee , malt and dried fruits.
Full/ medium body & complexity. Immediate sweetness, solid bitterness- overall a litte too sweet. High quality brewing, but a bit too much malt and sweetness for my taste. Maybe I should have taken it in sept 2012...

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at home from the bottleshop
Dark garnet-mahogany with fluffy ochre head. Very dull musty pine needles and caramel on the nose. Some initial resin up front, then cardboard, toffee and warming alcohol. Touch solventy in finish. Can see the nogneø and renaissance influences, sadly hops have long since faded.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from The Lighthouse in NC. I was exciteded to try this one even though it was priced at $10.99 for a 16.9oz.. I love Imperial Reds, sadly this one I found to be far too malty. I look for Imperial Reds to be hoppy and spicy and malty.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown colour with a 1 inch tan head. Aroma of caramel, nuts and spruce. Taste is leaves, raisins, spruce, some roasted malts and some caramel in the finish. Medium body and a lovley mouthfeel. Great balance is the keyword here, and the reason why this one is really enjoyable.
