3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle provided by argo0. Thanks! Poured a copper-amber color with a small white head. Aroma was light, sweet malts, some caramel. Flavor was light caramel, sweet malts. That’s about it.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is dark amber-brown.
Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (cookie, scorched caramel, roasted grain/nuts), moderately hoppy (resin, apricot), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of cardboard/sherry, alcohol, maple syrup.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic.
Kind of a disjointed, rough-edged mish-mash, like a dump-bucket of American barleywines. Lots of resinous hops, alcohol, and oxidation make it rather hard to enjoy. There are some nice malt characteristics struggling for dominance, but overall it’s just too brutish and crude to keep me coming back to the glass.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at home from the bottleshop
Dark garnet-mahogany with fluffy ochre head. Very dull musty pine needles and caramel on the nose. Some initial resin up front, then cardboard, toffee and warming alcohol. Touch solventy in finish. Can see the nogneø and renaissance influences, sadly hops have long since faded.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
I tried this beer quite a while ago and all that I can recall is the unpleasant experience. Too spicy, too herbal, much more bitter than I would have expected. A metallic bite on all those herbs, as if a tin of Twinnings infusions had been dropped into the vat. Ø for søppel.
Perhaps I should re-visit this product, but I doubt it will happen, with so much good stuff being produced around, including fabulous brews by the three accused for brewing this chimaera.
