500ml bottle in a plastic cup. Pours brown with a lacy head. Aroma of caramel and chocolate malts, coffee, and some floral hops. Flavor the same with a good blend of coffee, floral hops, and malts. Average texture. A pretty good brown ale.

This is good, but Iím not a huge hoppy brown ale fan and the coffee doesnít seem to add anything to me. Appearance is great with a huge tan head that slowly settles some lace, and a clear amber brown color. Aroma is a faint brown ale. Flavor is basically a coffee flavored hoppy brown ale. Body is good. Iíll drink this one, but donít want another.

On tap at the Local Taphouse, Darlinghurst. Cola colour with small beige head. Coffee and toffee aromas, with the taste reflecting the same notes, with some bourbon notes too. Quite light bodied, increasing the drinkability. Enjoyable and fairly well balanced between bitter and sweet.

Bottle. Brewdog, Sheffield. Clear, chestnut brown. Minimal, beige head. Pear drops. Coffee. Chocolate. Caramel. As it warms, the pear drop thing lifts, and the caramel and coffee deepens. Taste is full on bitter. Both hoppy, and roast malt. Some coffee astringency on the palate. Stays smooth, and rich. Finishes long, pithy, roast coffee bitter. A grower. By the time Iíd finished this, I was loving it...

500ml bottle from Slowbeer. Pours clear brown with a medium head. Coffee notes in the aroma, next to a typical brown ale nose. This combination is also very present in the taste, and it works well. Thereís not much else to say; Itís interesting and good, but not blowing my mind.

The coffee bean smell make you think you are in Starbucks. There is also a hint of vanilla. Huge fluffy white head, beautiful caramel color! The taste is just like it smells, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, caramel. The swallow is sweet, bitter, perfect combination. Just the right amount of ABV. Warning this tastes way to good to have more than one because you canít put it down and with the 8% ABV, itís way too easy to drink. Be careful, it will creep on you if you have two!!!! Great Beer!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle during exams. Pours clear dark ruby copper with a beige fizzy head. Aroma is very coffee forward with a somewhat powdery and roasted coffee. also you get some subtle notes of caramel, dark malts, cocoa beans and some nuts. Also a weak spicy character which might come from the coffee as well. nice and simple aroma. The taste is also very coffee forward with an earthy and roasted coffee flavor. I also get some bitter roasted malts, weak sweet fruityness, some caramel, cocoa beans and some bitter nuts. Overall a slight bitter and roasted taste. I like the direction of this brown ale which takes the style away from just being a somewhat sweet nutty and caramel thingy. This one has a nice edge to it. More sweet notes are coming through as this warms. One of the better brown ales Iíve had!
