I like Brown Ales a lot, this one is exceptional. Easy to see why this is so popular. Great Brown Ale.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Rich coffee aroma, but also nutty, caramel, lots of hops and a balancing yeast. Delicious strong taste, bitter, coffee, resin hops. Amazing brew. So rich and delicious. (Bottle brought by Bertanne from De Molen)

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottled. Full 0,5 liter sample. The aroma has caramel, nuts, coffee, roast, some piney hops. Dark brown coloured beer with a short, off-white head. The taste is sweet in the beginning and ends bitter dry. It has a good balance between the caramel malts and the coffee. If you think about how you would want a coffee infused brown ale, then this beer is just exactly how you want it to be. Really great.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle. Pours a hazy deep chestnut, with a smallish off-white head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. Lightly bitter coffee and floral hops compliment each other nicely in an aroma which also features milk chocolate and slightly burnt toast. Pine and vinous hops up front work lead nicely into slightly fruity, lightly bitter coffee in the mid-palate, which combines nicely with a little milk chocolate. Fruity and floral coffee finishes it off. This is a very nice beer indeed. Iím not always a fan of coffee beers, but this one has an excellent match between the flavours of the coffee used and those of the base beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
As advertised, a tasty drop that combines the best of both drinks (albeit not equally). Full bodied and well balanced beer is enhanced by the background hint of coffee.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is roasty chocolate, some liquorice, some hoppy notes, malty biscuit. Flavour is quite dry and roasty, big caramel and chocolate malt, some liquorice. Ohw and coffee, lotís of coffee, not too bitter. Nice one.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Wow. Donít doubt that the label says what you are going to get. Itís got the raw coffee aroma and then the full coffee profile in the taste. Itís dark brown and has a great head. It does not let on that itís alcohol laden beer. No other nonsense like "chocolateí or other things, this is double coffee. Very good beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Small yellow-cream head over dark hazed red-chestnut beer. Hops, chocolate & wood, then dry coffee powder and cocoa. Also a fleeting hint @ chili. Indeed. Cold coffee, with a backthroat heat, that again makes me think of chili. In there? Hints of hops and black chocolate. Quite some sweetness underneath. Warming up, the coffee becomes too obtrusive to my liking, and also more roasted in character. Medium bodied, quite slick. Faint alcohol(?)warmth. Definitely better than the sum of its parts. And once more, Iím surprised at my notes. Iím supposed to hate coffee...

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours cloudy brown, tiny white head, strong aroma of burnt caramel and coffee. Deep coffee flavours with a mild warming peppery and alcohol aftertaste. I love coffee and I love brown ales so itís not surprising I love this.

500ml bottle, pours brown with a small off white head. Aroma is coffee and caramel, toffee and pecan, this is a great desert beer, but there is good balance from the hops ending with a rounded sweet caramel and pecan toffee pie sweetness. Very rich and smooth palate. An excellent and original beer.
