COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In my opinion, coffee rivals beer for the title of "greatest beverage in the world". I often say that I would rather give up beer than coffee. So it is only natural that we would attempt to make a beverage that incorporates both. If we were to succeed, surely this would then become the greatest beverage in the world? After years of research and trials in the garage, I have come up with what I think is the perfect marriage of coffee and beer: A hoppy double brown ale, that compliments both the roasty and fruity aspects of the coffee without putting up too much of a fight. The coffee was selected in collaboration with the Christchurch institution C4 Coffee and consists mainly of lightly roasted, delicate and floral, Ethiopian beans. Worlds are colliding and, in my humble opinion, greatness is achieved on the other side.

HOPS: Pacific Jade, NZ Cascade and Pacifica

MALT: Gladfield Pale, Crystal, Munich, Caramalt, Chocolate, Oats

YEAST: Wyeast 1272 - American Ale II

strong aroma of coffee and chocolate. roasty, toasty. malts. Initial sip starts a little malty, bitter, and ends very smooth chocolate/coffee. Leaves a strong coffee taste In your mouth, as if you just had your last sip of morning coffee.

Unclear medium brown, Large frothy beige head, lasting with lace. Delicious fresh coffee bean aroma with some roasted malt and smoke, chocolate. Medium to full body. Smooth and creamy, clean hoppy finish. Roasty. Fantastic coffee flavor. Love that the coffee actually has the center stage. Everything I hope for in a coffee beer.

Dark brown pour. No head. A couple bubbles, if that. Obviously no lacing. Nice aroma of coffee, some heavy mineral type aroma - like chalk and copper. Heavy coffee flavor with some chocolate maltiness. A bit carbonic. Dry, yet a little sweet. Not too bad.

Bombers from Capone’s and Smith’s. Pours dark brown, looking deep ruby through direct light, and a 1-finger off-white head. Nose is heavy on the crystal and choc malt, big hop smell, and some perfumy florals. Tastes very hoppy, with coffee, cacao, an assertive malt presence, and more hops and well integrated coffee flavor in the finish. As with all 8 Wired beers I have quaffed thusfar, this one is well made and complex and thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end.

Milky coffee with just a hint of vanilla combined with a beautiful hoppy malty ale. Say no more. Not a novelty, a real beer that I will definitely seek out to have again. Delicious.

Bottle share courtesy of sebletitje. The bottle pours brown with a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a mix of coffee and mild malty sweetness with a dash of hazel nut at the end of the draw. The taste delivers roasted coffee notes, some slightly roasted malts and a bit of hop spiciness. It gets a bit nutty here and there too.

Chestnut brown fruity coffee with grey brown head. Milk chocolate and some ashen notes. Pithy orange hops come first. Plum pudding and rich fruit coffee with increasing alcohol warmth down glass. Medium body with high residual sugar, low carbonation and slight burnt toast bitterness in finish.

bomber.

Deep toffee brown pour with light brown head. Caramel, roasted grain, coffee aroma. Roast, malt flavours with slight bit of coffee up front, finishes with coffee coming through on top of some hop bitterness. Pretty easy drinking

Bottle. Pours murky, brown with thick, creamy beige head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is coffee, light chocolate, caramel and roasted malts, raisins, figs, earthy and floral hops, and light leather. Flavor is roast malt and coffee forward, dark fruit esters, earthy hops, smoke, and light woody notes; dry, ashy finish. Medium body and carbonation.
