UPDATED: FEB 15, 2013 Bottled. Pours hazy and deep brown with a medium sized off-white to beige head, leaving a fair lacing. Nose of grapefruit, orange, coffee, chocolate, caramel and floral + pepperish notes. Sweet flavor with a slightly toasted malt taste, that ends up more dry and decent bitter. Medium to full bodied, oily to creamy texture and soft CO2. Delicious and very enjoyable. ★★★★

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg @ CPK. The pour’s medium brown with a small tan head. The nose is smooth roasted coffee, note of chocolate, some nuts. The taste is more roasted coffee, light caramel, toasted wood, some berry. Light, sweet finish. Medium body, soft. This drinks below its chunky ABV. Overall, a really nice effort. Well-rounded stuff.

Bottle. Clear brown appearance with low carbonation and a small head. Chocolate like coffee flavour dominates but doesn’t take over. Perhaps a novelty beer but still a superb one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a dark clear brown with mahogany flashes down the side of the glass. Huge tan coloured head that takes forever to fall. Lots of lacing. Nice looking beer once it settles down a bit. Aromas are certainly dominated by coffee. Not just roasted coffee but sweet coffee liquor. Not a lot else comes through though there are some us hops and a little roasted grain. A little one dimensional thanks to the coffee but bloddy good all the same. Taste shows a little more complexity. Bitter roasted grain and coffee, sweet caramel and plenty of resiny bitter hops on the finish. Resin lingers long after the last taste. Medium to full creamy mouthfeel. Another great beer from this guy.
