COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In my opinion, coffee rivals beer for the title of "greatest beverage in the world". I often say that I would rather give up beer than coffee. So it is only natural that we would attempt to make a beverage that incorporates both. If we were to succeed, surely this would then become the greatest beverage in the world? After years of research and trials in the garage, I have come up with what I think is the perfect marriage of coffee and beer: A hoppy double brown ale, that compliments both the roasty and fruity aspects of the coffee without putting up too much of a fight. The coffee was selected in collaboration with the Christchurch institution C4 Coffee and consists mainly of lightly roasted, delicate and floral, Ethiopian beans. Worlds are colliding and, in my humble opinion, greatness is achieved on the other side.

HOPS: Pacific Jade, NZ Cascade and Pacifica

MALT: Gladfield Pale, Crystal, Munich, Caramalt, Chocolate, Oats

YEAST: Wyeast 1272 - American Ale II

On tap at cookie. Great, complex beer. Aroma of coffee beans, chocolate, and toast. Taste is sweet and bitter, with hints of sourness, and long length. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy head.

I like Brown Ales a lot, this one is exceptional. Easy to see why this is so popular. Great Brown Ale.

Bottled. Full 0,5 liter sample. The aroma has caramel, nuts, coffee, roast, some piney hops. Dark brown coloured beer with a short, off-white head. The taste is sweet in the beginning and ends bitter dry. It has a good balance between the caramel malts and the coffee. If you think about how you would want a coffee infused brown ale, then this beer is just exactly how you want it to be. Really great.

8wired fouble coffe brown ale Tap @ Hoprevolution Vol.2. Aroma is full of caramel, sweet wig fruit - and actually not too much coffee. Well, maybe a bit. Coffee-chocolate. Caramel pudding. You can feel coffee creme cake and some more coffee chocolate in the taste. At the end there is espresso, a nice espresso, coming through and dominating the taste. Maybe this is the best coffee beer that I have ever had. Aftertaste is long, full of coffee and malt sweetness. With some hops of course. This beer is made for sipping, not for gulping.

Rich coffee aroma, but also nutty, caramel, lots of hops and a balancing yeast. Delicious strong taste, bitter, coffee, resin hops. Amazing brew. So rich and delicious. (Bottle brought by Bertanne from De Molen)

bottle from pivni rozmanitost in prague. more black than brown with a fluffy brown head; aroma of mudcake dough, vanilla cream and, of course, coffee beans; loads of bitter chocolate flavours, rice krispies, good whack of bitterness, beautifully balanced

UPDATED: APR 27, 2014 Just realised I am going from tea (Yeastie Gunnamatta) to coffee. Massive coffee aromas, and pours nice and dark. This beer has length that just lingers and lingers in the back palate. Not that I drink coffee, but it wins on the day.

strong aroma of coffee and chocolate. roasty, toasty. malts. Initial sip starts a little malty, bitter, and ends very smooth chocolate/coffee. Leaves a strong coffee taste In your mouth, as if you just had your last sip of morning coffee.

Pours a dark hazy brown with mimimal white head. Aromas of coffee and some malt. Strong strong coffee flavours. This is like drinking a cold coffee with some carbonation. The flavours have some complexity which makes this an interesting beer.
