COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s brewed with a big portion of Spelt malt as well as raw wheat and oats. For the hops, we have tried to keep the bitterness right down while maintaining a big US hop presence. So hops (Chinook and Cascade) have only been added to the whirlpool and as dry hops. The yeast is a new dry Belgian yeast on the market made by the homebrew suppliers from Mangrove Jack’s.Keg only for now.

Draught. Slightly green yellow, with loads of carbonation that dissipated fairly quickly. Intense yeasty saison aroma, with complex smells that reflect the wild yeasts. The flavour is unlike a typical saison. Very dry, not yeasty and fruity as much as and green and hopped but with a bit of grapefruit flavour. The aroma and flavour give an interesting contrast that makes this a very memorable beer.

Hey, hey what the... This was the general reaction when this turned up in people’s pint glasses and to be fair to them, they weren’t expecting a saison. To be fair to 8 Wired, a saison is a pale ale. Anyway, the pint itself was greenish yellow with big, flabby carbonation and nil head. The aroma was of wild yeasts, grapefruit and lemons and this was reflected in the flavour. Bitterness was puckering and kept the thirst going right down to the bottom of the pint. A curious creature this one.

Growler. Gold with a white head. Aroma of mandarins, sourdough, grapefruit, pepper. Quite full-bodied for 5%, wouldn’t have minded a little less body. Sweet oranges, spicy grain, some nectarines, a little tartness that could be bready or grapefruit, dry at the end with pepper and cloves. Good stuff.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2014 Yet another spectacular brew from the folks at 8 Wired. It was the first Saison that ticked all my boxes - especially the "can I have another" one.

A very nice beer, got the wheat-beer vibe going right up until you actually taste it. Turns into a light fruity beer that is rather enjoyable to drink on a summer afternoon
