We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

Clear golden pour, decent white head. Aroma is big, passionfruit and citrus with some caramel. Big citrus flavour, nice maltiness and good long bitter finish. Cracker.

16.9 oz bottle. Clear amber with a frothy white head. Nose is orange, caramel, wild strawberry and grass. Crisp medium light; clean, juicy and quenching. Taste is lemon and lime zest, green apple, honey and soft pine. Beautiful hints of sweetness with an exotic hoppy blend. Impressive IPA.

nice frothy head but very clear. Huge aroma, hoppy and extremely tropical fruit, has a really appealing aroma. Super tasty brew with big juicy notes and big profile. This brew doesn’t mess around. seriously good.

Pours clear gold with nice white head and a long lasting lace. Smells fruity with citrus notes. Flavour is citrus with a nice malt profile coming through once the beer warms up. Bitterness of the hops comes through perfect. Great beer.

Pours a clear orangish amber color with a white head that dissipates quickly but leaves, good amount of lace. Smell is a sweet malty citrus aroma. Taste is a bready sweet malts with a good mouthfull of hops and really nice lingering piney bitterness on the end. Too sweet for my liking and the sweetness doesn?t blend that well.

500ml bottle. Nearly clear amber with throwbacks to gold with average off-white head that leaves a solid lace. Tons of fresh cut grapefruit and tangerine with a really grassy gooseberry note. I’m going to guess there’s a lot of Neslson Sauvin in here. So much fruit on the palate. Reminds me of the new recipe BrewDog Punk IPA but punchier and more heavily fruity. Not super bitter but balanced nicely through the finish. Retardedly good.

Nice amber/orange color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of nice floral hops, pine, citrus, & some caramel malt; Flavor of malt, some caramel/toffee, pine hops, and citrus (notably tangerine & grapefruit); Finish dry & bitter; Nicely balanced; Overall, quite the hop bomb - good stuff.

Bottled at ALEhouse. My favorite IPA, so far. Frutty aroma with fantastic hoppy taste and nice bitter finish.

The quintessential southern hemisphere IPA, in my opinion. Oozes New Zealand hops in aroma and flavor, not too bitter, strong at 7.7% (by AU/NZ craft beer standards). Just a GREAT beer. My only gripe is that it seems to deteriorate pretty fast with time. Fresh, there is no better IPA down here.
