COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

Glad to have found this as fresh as it can probably come. Very dark crystal clear amber pour with a small amount of head. Nose is a complex blend of heady fruity hops and tropical citrus notes along with sugary toasty malts and caramels. Flavor lends a pleasant but intense fruity hop and dark sugary malt blend. bitterness is moderate but not lingering. I liked it.

Bottle. Light amber body. Fizzy, off-white head. Raw, leafy hop aroma with notes of toasted grain, citrus, orange and a hint of caramel and metal. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, oily texture, moderate carbonation. Lots of raw hop flavor balanced by sweet malts. Chewy rather than crisp. Ragged, but interesting.

Pours a cloudy brown colour with a white head. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, passion fruit and other fruits with some hops. Taste is also sweet and fruity, with passionfruit and grapefruit leading to a great lovely balanced bitter finish. Really nice soft mouth feel. Really great.
