We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet youíll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

Clear light amber, good foam and lacing. Light aroma of citrus and caramel. Taste is mostly bitter citrus, some pine notes, and a little bread and roasted malts. Crisp.

Wonderful, fruity hop aroma. Color golden with a decent white head. Hop flavor noticeable but not as in your face as American IPAs. A more balanced tasting. Delicious! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Craft Brixton - 28/09/12. Lightly hazed amber with a thin white head. Nose deominated by tropical fruit, mango, papaya, passion fruit, a little pine and hops. Taste follows with some bitter grapefruit, more pine, a bit sharper than the largely sweet nose suggested. Medium bodied with a sweet fruity finish.

Keg @ CBC Brixton. The pourís deep amber with a big white head. The nose is apricot, honey, marmalade, green shoots. The taste is sweet fruity malt, hints of mango and tropical fruits. Honey, light pissy citrus. Chalky mineral. Smooth and fresh. A bit syrupy and big-bodied. Overall, quite good! On form.

Same olí thing. Pours an amber color with too much sweetness. Hops provide a unique grape/berry element with some wet grass but the malt sweetness is a bit too present for my taste.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Orange-amber body, medium white head, streaky lacing. Nose is full of tropical new zealand hops: floral and tropical fruits--mango, pineapple, grapefruit and orange. Pleasant malt profile is accentuate my the fruity hops in the flavor profile. Medium bodied, appropriate carbonation, nice bitter finish.
